Kosovo election sees showbiz stars attract top voter support

The June 7 parliamentary election in Kosovo featured several well‑known figures from the country’s entertainment industry. Singer Edona Llalloshi, actor Armend Baloku and actress Adriana Matoshi ran on the Vetëvendosje list, while singer Adelina Thaçi‑Meta was placed on the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) ticket. Preliminary results released after about 20 percent of the votes were counted show Llalloshi leading the celebrity candidates with 3,701 votes, closely followed by Baloku with 3,639 votes and Matoshi with 2,661 votes. The counts are still preliminary and may change as the Central Election Commission completes the tally.
