Kosovo election turnout falls to 37% amid youth disillusionment

Parliamentary elections in Kosovo recorded a voter turnout of roughly 37%, the lowest in five years. Vetëvendosje (LV) secured about 43% of the vote, translating to 48 seats—nine fewer than in the 2021 election. The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) maintained its second‑place position with about 21% of the vote and 24 seats, while the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) added five seats, remaining the third‑largest force.

Analysts and political observers highlighted the stark youth disengagement, noting similar patterns of low participation and protests in Albania and North Macedonia.
