Kosovo electoral commission continues vote verification and counting

The Central Election Commission (KQZ) of Kosovo has continued the verification and counting of votes from municipal polling stations and diplomatic missions for the parliamentary elections held on 7 June 2026. By 12 June, verification was completed in 35 municipal counting centres, covering 2,349 of the 2,498 registered votes (94.04%). Counting remains pending in the municipalities of Gjilan, Prizren and Pristina.

At the diplomatic level, votes from 30 overseas representations in 18 countries have been processed, with 13 of the 47 diplomatic ballot boxes counted so far. Of the 27,724 registered voters abroad, 22,860 (82.46%) have cast a ballot, which is now undergoing tabulation.

The commission also finished retrieving more than 85,700 mail‑in ballot envelopes from 23 post boxes in 22 foreign states and Kosovo. Of the 75,590 envelopes evaluated, 72,746 were approved and 2,844 rejected, mainly due to missing registration certificates (1,320 cases). Approximately 42 envelopes were sent to the wrong destination. The assessment of the remaining 42,000 mailed packages began on 9 June and will conclude with a final publication of the verified counts.
