Kosovo Emergency Agency Declares Post‑Rain Situation Stable

The Emergency Management Agency (AME) reported that after heavy rain on 27 July 2026 the overall situation across Kosovo is stable, calm and fully manageable. Water levels in the Gjakovë‑Rahovec area are falling, with only isolated reports of water reaching homes and riverbanks. In the Prizren‑Suharekë region, authorities successfully addressed several instances of water intrusion in basements, residential buildings and commercial premises, stabilising the situation.

In Pristina, water pooled in the Shkabaj area and on the Pristina‑Skopje highway near the Marigona Residence; response teams cleared the accumulation and restored normal traffic flow. AME coordinated its actions with the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ operational centre, the Kosovo Police and municipal authorities, maintaining a 24‑hour, 7‑day‑a‑week engagement. The Institute of Hydrometeorology of Kosovo forecasted that weather conditions will stabilise in the coming days, and the agency urged citizens to call the free emergency number 112 for any assistance.
