Kosovo formalizes aviation safety agreements with EASA

The Civil Aviation Authority of Kosovo (AAC) has formalized two working agreements with the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to align Kosovo’s civil aviation with European safety standards.

The agreements, initially signed on August 3 by EASA Executive Director Florian Guillermet, aim to strengthen technical and institutional cooperation. Key objectives include the exchange of information regarding aircraft safety, professional expertise, and the gradual implementation of EU aviation legislation. Under these terms, the AAC will be subject to monitoring and standardization inspections by EASA to ensure effective compliance with European safety requirements.

Acting Director of the AAC, Arjanit Islami, noted that the partnership allows Kosovar experts to participate in EASA’s technical and advisory structures. Infrastructure and Transport Minister Dimal Basha emphasized that the cooperation is a significant step toward European integration and will support economic development and air transport connectivity.
