Kosovo inflation reaches 7.3% in August
Consumer prices in Kosovo rose significantly in August 2026, reaching an annual inflation rate of 7.3% compared to the same month in 2025. According to data from the Kosovo Agency of Statistics (ASK), the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) also saw a monthly increase of 1.3% compared to July 2026.
The annual price surge was driven most heavily by transportation, which saw a 21.1% increase. Other major contributors to inflation included housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, which rose by 11.8%. Other notable increases were recorded in restaurants and accommodation services (5.4%), alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and narcotics (5.1%), and healthcare (4.2%).
In contrast, the only category to record a price decrease was educational services, which fell by 0.5%.
