Kosovo Institute for Justice seeks Penal Code amendments
The Kosovo Institute for Justice (IKD) is advancing a citizen-led legislative initiative to amend the Penal Code of the Republic of Kosovo. The initiative aims to introduce criminal liability for the intentional failure to implement decisions made by the Constitutional Court.
Additionally, the proposed changes seek to prohibit the use of public funds for electoral purposes during election and pre-election periods. To build support, IKD has met with mayors from several municipalities, including Pristina, Peja, Ferizaj, Skenderaj, Klina, Lipjan, and Kaçanik. These local leaders have expressed readiness to support and sign the initiative.
The signature collection process is set to continue in Pristina on September 1.
