Kosovo Lawyer Arianit Koci Reports Extortion at Serbia-Macedonia Border
Lawyer Arianit Koci of Kosovo issued a public statement warning of a serious incident at the Batrovci/Bajakovo crossing on the Serbia‑Macedonia border. A Kosovar citizen, identified as "Illiri", said police stopped his family, searched their phones, found images of the Albanian and KLA flags, and threatened arrest and pre‑trial detention in Belgrade unless he paid €2,000, which he did out of fear. Koci confirmed the citizen’s identity but could not independently verify the details. He urged anyone who experienced similar treatment to contact competent authorities and Kosovo embassies so the cases can be documented and pursued legally.
