Kosovo elects new parliament with 101 incumbents and starts recount of 185 precincts

The latest parliamentary election in Kosovo has produced a new Assembly in which 101 deputies from the previous legislature retain their seats, while only nine newcomers will join. The ruling LVV (Vetëvendosje) secured 53 mandates, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) 22, the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) 18 and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo 7. Five new LVV members – Osman Musliu, Arton Konushevci, Armend Baloku, Krenare Çerkini and Valon Peci – and four new deputies from the Serbian List entered the legislature.

The Central Election Commission (KQZ) has begun a recount of 185 polling stations, representing 7.41% of the total 2,498 stations, across municipalities such as Pristina, Prizren, Gjakova and Ferizaj. The recount, intended to verify the accuracy of the original counting, is expected to be completed within two days. KQZ officials say the commission is technically ready to publish the final election results, pending any legal challenges during the appeal period. A detailed report on the recount findings will be presented to the commission before the final results are announced.
