Kosovo PM Kurti meets LDK chief Abdixhiku to seek coalition agreement

Kosovo’s prime minister in‑charge, Albin Kurti, scheduled a one‑on‑one meeting with LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku, accompanied by finance minister Hekuran Murati. The talks, described as a “1+1” format, aim to reach an agreement that would enable the constitution of the 11th legislature, the formation of a new government and the election of a president before the constitutional session set for 6 August.

Kurti said he will attend “with goodwill and readiness for an agreement,” stressing the need for regular elections every four years and a swift transition of power. While LDK accepted the invitation, the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) declined to join the meeting, leaving the coalition‑building effort largely between Vetëvendosje and LDK.
