Kosovo leaders urge swift formation of new parliament and government after June election

Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that once the vote‑counting and certification of the June 7 election results are completed, the priority must be the rapid constitution of the 11th legislature and the formation of new governing institutions. He emphasized that the election of a president cannot be achieved by Vetëvendosje alone and will require cooperation with opposition parties.

Former Vetëvendosje parliamentary group head Arbërie Nagavci echoed the call, stating that after certification the country needs to functionally re‑establish the Assembly, form a new government and elect a president. She argued that citizens voted for effective institutions, not political blockades, and warned that opposition‑driven delays cost time and millions of euros.

Both leaders framed the repeated elections as a clear message from voters supporting Vetëvendosje and calling for institutional stability and responsibility.
