Authorities in Kosovo have begun excavating a suspected mass grave in the village of Kalluder, Zubin Potok. The operation was ordered by the Special Prosecutor’s Office and the Basic Court of Pristina and is intended to recover, autopsy and identify human remains.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti said the site may contain the remains of 23 Albanian civilians from Mitrovica who disappeared during the 1999 war, while the Special Prosecutor’s Office has detained two Serbian citizens, identified as M. J. and M. B., on war‑crime allegations linked to the conflict.

Police have also recovered ammunition that belonged to Serbian forces at the excavation site, and the extremist group “Brigada e Veriut” has threatened institutional officials via social media, prompting a police investigation into the threats. The investigations continue under the coordination of Kosovo police and the Special Prosecutor’s Office.
