Kosovo Minister meets new EULEX head Antero Lopes

Kosovo’s Acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, met with the new head of EULEX, Antero Lopes, to discuss cooperation and the strengthening of the rule of law. During the meeting, Sveçla expressed gratitude for EULEX’s ongoing contributions and its support during excavations conducted at mass graves in Zubin Potok.

Antero Lopes, who assumed his mandate on August 10, 2026, brings extensive international experience from high-level leadership roles within the United Nations. He previously served in Kosovo for six years as part of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK).
