Kosovo Ministry moves against illegal water‑resource constructions near Batllavë and Badovc
The Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure (MMPHI) announced that protecting water resources remains a strategic priority and that it will continue actions to free water‑service lands that have been illegally occupied. The ministry, together with its Inspectorate and the Kosovo Police, recently demolished 16 structures built without permits on water‑property in the Lake Ujmani area. It is now reviewing similar cases around Lakes Batllavë and Badovc, two key sources of drinking water, and processing requests from public institutions and enterprises to release the seized properties. Once inspections are complete, immediate legal measures will be taken to restore the areas for public interest, while ongoing monitoring will also cover other protected zones and national parks.
