Albin Kurti meets Swedish Ambassador to discuss Euro-Atlantic integration

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti met with the new Swedish Ambassador to Kosovo, Åsa Pehrson, to discuss bilateral relations and continued support for Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic integration. Kurti highlighted Sweden’s role as a major donor and a key contributor to the KFOR mission, noting that approximately 9,000 Swedish soldiers have served in Kosovo since its liberation.

During the meeting, Kurti briefed the ambassador on recent economic developments and progress in the justice sector. He requested Sweden’s ongoing support for Kosovo’s path toward membership in Euro-Atlantic institutions.

Separately, Kurti commemorated the 36th anniversary of the declaration of the Republic of Kosovo in Kaçanik, which took place on September 7, 1990. He noted that this historical act served as a foundation for both peaceful and armed resistance, eventually leading to the country's declaration of independence in 2008.
