Kosovo opposition leader Avni Arifi rebukes PM Albin Kurti over AAK meeting snub

Avni Arifi, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) candidate for parliament, criticised Prime Minister Albin Kurti after the ruling party’s invitation for a meeting was rejected by the AAK. Arifi reminded Kurti that the AAK had never been invited to post‑election talks following the 28 December parliamentary vote, and now the prime minister “needs the AAK for the presidential issue.”

He accused Kurti of neglecting the alliance, claiming the government’s recent six‑point offer benefits Kosovo rather than any partisan interest and that Kurti’s narrative is aimed at building consensus for the president without constructive dialogue. Arifi called for a constructive solution for the country, suggesting that the current approach sidesteps genuine negotiations.

The exchange highlights rising tension between the ruling party and the AAK as Kosovo prepares for the upcoming presidential process.
