Kosovo opposition parties demand vote recount and pledge support for new Kurti government

Two candidates of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Bekim Haxhiu and Qëndrim Kryeziu, have filed an appeal with the Supreme Court to order a full recount of preferential votes. They argue that the earlier recount ordered by the Central Election Commission revealed errors in the initial tally, affecting 185 ballot boxes and altering 220 votes, which could change the final allocation of seats.

Fikrim Damka, chairman of the Turkish Democratic Party of Kosovo (KDTP), said the party’s two deputies will vote without conditions to approve Albin Kurti’s fourth government, stressing the urgent need to form functional institutions. He called on all parties to overcome political blockades and accelerate the establishment of the new administration.
