Kosovo finalizes parliamentary election results, names 120 new deputies

The Central Election Commission (KQZ) has completed the counting of votes for Kosovo's early parliamentary elections held on 7 June 2026 and announced the final composition of the 120‑member Assembly. Vetëvendosje (LVV) emerged as the largest party with 47.13 % of the votes, securing 53 seats. The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) received 19.44 % and 22 seats, the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) 16.69 % and 18 seats, while the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) obtained 6.74 % and 7 seats. Diaspora ballots added five seats to LVV, giving it a simple majority of 61 deputies together with non‑Serb minority members, influencing coalition calculations. Prime Minister Albin Kurti affirmed willingness to cooperate on the presidential election but ruled out a broader coalition government. KQZ also initiated a recount of 185 polling stations (7.41 % of the total) to verify the accuracy of the count, with results to be confirmed after a 48‑hour complaint period. In parallel, Daut Haradinaj announced his resignation from the Assembly, stating he will continue to work for Kosovo’s interests outside the parliamentary chamber.
