Kosovo Police and KFOR officials visit northern border units

High-ranking officials from the Kosovo Police and KFOR conducted a joint visit to border police units and patrol teams in northern Kosovo on October 15, 2026. The delegation included Kosovo Police Director General Colonel Gazmend Hoxha, Border Department Director Lieutenant Colonel Fehmi Xhata, Admiral George M. Wikoff of NATO Allied Joint Force Command Naples, and Major General Roberto Vergori, Commander of KFOR.

The visit aimed to evaluate joint commitments regarding border monitoring, specifically focusing on the ‘green line’ and ‘blue line’. Officials assessed the ongoing cooperation between the Kosovo Police and KFOR, emphasizing the importance of joint patrols, information exchange, and field coordination to strengthen security.

Participants highlighted that continued inter-institutional coordination is essential for maintaining a secure environment and guaranteeing peace and stability for all citizens. The Kosovo Police reaffirmed its commitment to its legal mandate and to strengthening partnerships with KFOR and other international actors to ensure regional stability.
