Kosovo Police deny reports of emergency security fortification

The Kosovo Police has issued a denial regarding unconfirmed media reports claiming the country was being “fortified” ahead of a decision from The Hague. Several Albanian-language media outlets circulated claims that police were returning from leave, implementing 12-hour shifts, and increasing security near embassies to control crowds.

The police clarified that while they are developing security plans for large gatherings and developments, this is part of standard operating procedures and does not constitute an emergency fortification. Authorities urged the media and citizens to rely on official information to avoid spreading unconfirmed claims that cause unnecessary public concern.
