Kosovo seeks full membership in Adriatic Charter

Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari, Commander of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), has officially requested full membership for Kosovo in the Adriatic Charter. The request was made during the Adriatic Charter A5 conference held in Zadar, Croatia.

The conference was led by General Alexus G. Grynkewich, Commander of the U.S. European Command (EUCOM), in cooperation with the Croatian Armed Forces and defense chiefs from the Western Balkans. Discussions focused on current geopolitical challenges and the necessity of regional cooperation to ensure long-term stability and peace in the Balkans.

On the sidelines of the summit, General Jashari held bilateral meetings with high-ranking international military officials, including General Grynkewich and General Peter K. Scot, Deputy Commander of Allied Joint Force Command Naples. These meetings addressed deepening interoperability, operational coordination, and strategic support for defense capacity building. Jashari also met with Major General Stephen Osborn, commander of the Iowa National Guard, to discuss strengthening the partnership between the KSF and the Iowa National Guard.
