Albanian and Kosovar football leagues see major results and player boycotts

In the Albanian Superliga, Vllaznia secured a 2-0 victory against Tirana in the Shkodër derby, with goals from Murataj and Mehmeti. Vllaznia coach Csaba Laszlo noted the importance of the three points for their league standing. Meanwhile, Elbasani secured a 0-0 draw against Teuta in the debut match of coach Glen Daja.

In the Kosovo Superliga, FC Vushtrria faced a significant crisis as players boycotted a match against Ballkani due to a 20-day delay in salary payments. The club attributed the delay to sponsorship documentation procedures and promised payment within the following week. As a result of the boycott, Vushtrria faces a potential 3-0 forfeit loss.

Other notable results in Kosovo include Drita defeating Prishtina 3-0 and Feronikeli ’74 winning 3-0 against Dukagjini. In basketball, Bashkimi defeated Peja 82-77, led by Shanon Shorter, to maintain their lead in the Kosovo Superliga.
