Kosovo Supreme Court upholds election panel rulings, rejecting LVV and KQZ appeals

The Supreme Court of Kosovo dismissed the Movement for Self-Determination’s (LVV) appeal against a €6,000 fine imposed for alleged involvement of minors in its campaign activities. The court affirmed that the Election Appeals and Complaints Panel correctly applied the electoral regulation aimed at protecting children from political participation and upheld the penalty.

In a separate decision, the court rejected an individual appeal by Violeta Salihu, a member of the Central Election Commission, challenging the panel’s approval of voting at diplomatic missions with expired Kosovo identification documents. The court ruled that a commission member does not have standing to contest the panel’s decision and that the regulation requiring valid ID for voting remains lawful.
