Kosovo Supreme Court upholds fine on Vetëvendosje for minor campaign involvement
The Supreme Court of Kosovo dismissed Vetëvendosje’s (LVV) appeal against the decision of the Electoral Panel for Appeals and Complaints (PZAP), confirming a €5,100 fine. The fine relates to a campaign rally in Vushtrri on 31 May 2026 where a 10‑year‑old girl appeared on stage and recited a speech, which the court ruled violated election regulations that prohibit persons under 15 from participating in campaign activities. The court stated that it does not matter whether the minor’s participation was initiated by the child or the organizers; responsibility rests with the event organizer. The ruling affirms the earlier complaints filed by the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and the Institute for Justice, and it upholds the legal provision that “no certified political entity may engage persons under the age of fifteen in the electoral campaign.”
