Kosovo to launch national electronic identity platform in November
Kosovo is set to launch its national electronic identity (e-ID) platform in November, according to Minister of Digitization and Public Administration Lulëzon Jagxhiu. Speaking at the Western Balkans Digital Summit, Jagxhiu announced that the new platform will facilitate secure electronic authentication, digital signatures, and digital wallets.
The initiative is part of a broader digital transformation strategy. The existing eKosova platform currently provides over 330 services to more than 1.2 million registered users. The upcoming eKosova 2.0 update aims to add 400 new services and integrate artificial intelligence functionalities to provide proactive and personalized public services based on life events.
