VLIN Coalition Faces Sharp Criticism from BDI Over Government Role

The Democratic Union for Integration (BDI) issued a media statement condemning the VLIN coalition’s continued presence in the government. BDI cited remarks by VLIN leader Bekim Qoku that VLIN members are “terribly weak” in the executive, describing this as a public admission of political failure. The party demanded answers from VLIN’s vice‑presidents Bilall Kasami and Izet Mexhiti, questioning why they remain in power if they cannot influence decisions. BDI highlighted concerns about the Albanian language, representation of Albanians in state institutions, and appointments to senior posts. It asked whether any “red line” would force VLIN to leave the government and warned that the future of the Albanian community is jeopardised by the coalition’s weakness.
