Kosovo war‑crimes trial report and Bosnia peace march highlight Balkan war‑crimes legacy

The OSCE monitoring mission released a report on the handling of war‑crimes cases in Kosovo, noting delays, evidentiary challenges and procedural gaps in the Special Department of the Basic Court in Pristina. The report, covering 48 cases over seven years, recommends steps to strengthen judicial administration in line with international standards, citing that one‑fifth of hearings were postponed due to missing witnesses and that translation delays affected half of the proceedings.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, more than 6,500 participants began a three‑day Peace March to commemorate the victims of the 1995 Srebrenica genocide. The march, covering roughly 100 km, passes sites of mass executions and mass graves, concluding in Potočari a day before official remembrance ceremonies. Organisers stress the need to keep the tragedy from being forgotten, highlighting personal testimonies from survivors and observers.
