Udinese appoints Paolo Zanetti as head coach

Udinese Calcio has officially appointed Paolo Zanetti as the new head coach of its first team. Zanetti, 43, has signed a contract that runs until June 30, 2027, following the dismissal of German manager Kosta Runjaic.

The decision to part ways with Runjaic follows a difficult start to the Serie A season, including a 2-5 home defeat against AS Roma. At the time of the coaching change, Udinese sat in the penultimate position of the standings with only five points from ten matches.

Zanetti brings significant Serie A experience to the club, having previously managed Venezia, Empoli, and Hellas Verona. His managerial career includes leading Venezia to promotion to the top flight in the 2020/2021 season. He is scheduled to lead his first training session immediately following the announcement.
