Kostas Fortounis to miss 7-10 days due to injury
Olympiacos captain Kostas Fortounis is expected to be sidelined for approximately 7 to 10 days following an injury sustained during a match against Panetolikos. Medical examinations, including an MRI, confirmed that the midfielder avoided a serious muscle tear, but is suffering from intense muscle strain.
As a result, manager Imanol Alguacil will be without the key playmaker for the upcoming Europa League League Phase match against Sparta Prague on October 22. Fortounis is also expected to miss domestic fixtures against Kalamata and Markos. The medical team has initiated a specialized recovery program to facilitate his return, which is tentatively targeted for late October.
