Kostas Karamanlis to attend Xanthi event instead of Mitsotakis's TIF speech

Former Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis will be absent from the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) during Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s scheduled speech. Instead, Karamanlis is set to attend a book presentation in Xanthi on September 5.

The event in Xanthi features the presentation of ‘The General and the Cannoneer – The Short and the Tall. The Greatness of Friendship’ by Kostas Bliatkas. The book chronicles the long-standing friendship between Panathinaikos football legends Mimi Domazos and Antoniades Antoniadis. Karamanlis will participate in a panel alongside various figures from Greek football, including Vasilis Torosidis and Rouli Papaioannou.

Political observers note the timing of Karamanlis’s choice to be in Xanthi rather than Thessaloniki, suggesting it may serve as a symbolic gesture regarding his relationship with the current leadership of New Democracy.
