Athens theaters host new productions and concerts
Mark Rosenblatt's award‑winning play The Giant, directed by George Skevas, will open at the Theatro Odou Kykladon in Athens from 29 October. Aris Lemesopoulos portrays Roald Dahl in a drama that examines artistic genius, political responsibility and public discourse, following acclaimed runs in London and New York.
The concert “Rock the Greek” brings together leading Greek musicians Kostas Turanas and Dionysis Tsaknis for a live show on 29 September at Theatro Alsos DEH, with guest appearances by Philippos Pliatsikas and Giannis Zouganis.
Stand‑up comedy events include “TOSO OSO” by Ilias Fountoulis and Angelos Spiliopoulos at the Lampeti Theatre roof on 3 September, and “Beautiful Thoughts” by Ira Katsouda at the Kolossos Cinema Theatre in Thessaloniki on 13 November.
Nikolas Fragkiodakis presents “Cosmic Love” on 31 August at the Garden Theatre in Thessaloniki, mixing astrology, music and comedy, supported by Joanna Drigo and guitarist Tom Yosi.
The music‑theatre piece “Love Ascent” will be performed on 1‑2 August in the Petralona Caves, Chalkidiki, as part of the “All Greece One Culture 2026” programme, offered free of charge.
