PASOK criticizes Greek government over debt policy and foreign affairs
The opposition party PASOK has launched a series of criticisms against the New Democracy government, focusing on economic management and foreign policy. Regarding domestic issues, PASOK spokesperson Kostas Tsoukalas and MP Michalis Katrinis criticized the government's handling of private debt and the '120 installments' regulation. PASOK has proposed its own legislative alternative that includes lower interest rates and a 30% debt reduction for consistent debtors to address the 240 billion euro debt burden.
On the international stage, PASOK officials criticized the government's foreign policy, arguing that Greece should not act as a passive ally to the US and EU. They specifically highlighted concerns regarding Turkish provocations, including maritime issues and the 'Blue Homeland' doctrine, claiming the government has failed to take decisive action in international forums despite European Parliament resolutions.
