Koszalin Narrow‑Gauge Railway Acquires Four Swiss‑Built Passenger Wagons

The Society of the Koszalin Narrow‑Gauge Railway (TKKW) has purchased four 40‑year‑old passenger wagons built in 1986 in Switzerland. Each wagon cost 2,500 Swiss francs, and the total price was covered by the society’s own budget, including revenue from ticket sales. The first wagon arrived at the Koszalin station on a Saturday morning, with the remaining three to follow in the next days.

The wagons feature an aluminium frame, 64 comfortable seats, vented heating and large windows that open almost fully, eliminating the need for air‑conditioning. They are intended to improve comfort for tourists during the peak summer season. After completing required registration and safety approvals under Polish law, the wagons are slated to enter regular service in the next operating season.
