Koszalin to host new Ekofuturium sustainable development center
A new cultural and research institution, Ekofuturium – Center for Sustainable Development, is set to be established in Koszalin. The project, approved by the West Pomeranian Voivodeship council, aims to create a unique European center for education and research focused on environmental protection, new technologies, and sustainable development.
The facility is expected to be completed by the end of 2029. It will serve as a space for experiential learning through exhibitions, workshops, laboratories, and conferences, fostering cooperation between science, culture, and industry. The surrounding area will be developed into a science park featuring rain gardens, flower meadows, and insect hotels.
While initial estimates placed the investment cost at approximately 150 million PLN, designer data suggests the final cost may approach 200 million PLN. Final figures will be determined following the conclusion of public tenders.
