Kota Samarahan Sixth Form College set to open in 2028

The new Kota Samarahan Sixth Form College is scheduled to begin operations in 2028. Construction is currently underway with an expected 24-month implementation period. The facility will be located next to SMK Kota Samarahan and the Teacher Education Institute (IPG).

Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development and Kota Samarahan MP Datuk Rubiah Wang stated that the college aims to centralize pre-university education for the Samarahan Division, serving students from areas including Sebuyau, Asajaya, and Kota Samarahan. The institution will offer both Science and Arts streams and will include specialized facilities such as laboratories.

The establishment of the college is intended to alleviate congestion at existing secondary schools in the Kota Samarahan area caused by rising student enrollment. Once completed, students currently in the Science stream at SMK Muara Tuang are expected to be transferred to the new facility.
