Kota school students fall ill after consuming mid-day meal

At least 27 students at a government upper primary school in Poonia Devli village, Kota district, fell ill after consuming a mid-day meal containing pumpkin curry on Monday. The children, ranging from Classes 1 to 8, reported symptoms including vomiting, nausea, dizziness, headaches, and stomach pain.

Medical intervention was provided at a local medical college hospital, where several students were admitted for treatment and others were kept under observation. Rajasthan Minister Madan Dilawar visited the hospital and confirmed that the affected children are currently stable and out of danger.

Education officials, including District Education Officer Rup Singh Meena, have launched an inquiry into the incident. Minister Dilawar has ordered a quality check of the food samples to determine the cause of the illness and ensure accountability if negligence is found.
