Kota Tinggi fatal accident claims three lives

Three people have been identified as victims of a fatal two-vehicle collision on the Johor Bahru-Mersing road in Kota Tinggi. The deceased include Toyota Vios driver Muhamad Shuhairil Soraiya, 21, passenger Nur Fatin Nabilah Yusrishahrun, 20, and Honda City driver Muhamad Amin Mukhtar, 35.

Kota Tinggi District Police Chief, Superintendent Yusof Othman, stated that preliminary investigations suggest the Toyota Vios may have veered off course before entering the opposing lane and colliding with the Honda City. All three victims sustained severe injuries to their heads and bodies and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Firefighters from Kota Tinggi and Mersing responded to the scene to extricate the victims using rescue equipment. The bodies have been sent to the Kota Tinggi Hospital Forensic Unit, and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
