Kota Tinggi man remanded for seven days over child's death

A 37-year-old man has been remanded for seven days by the Kota Tinggi Sessions Court following the death of his five-year-old niece. The suspect is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

The incident occurred in Kampung Padang, Tanjung Sedili, after the suspect allegedly went on a rampage with a machete and chased a 40-year-old man. During the incident, the suspect is believed to have thrown the five-year-old girl into a river. The victim's body was later discovered lifeless in the river near their home.
