Kotoriba opens new cultural center in renovated historic school

The municipality of Kotoriba has officially opened the Kotoriba Cultural Center, located in the repurposed building of a former school. The opening coincided with the celebration of the Municipality Day, which included a formal session of the Municipal Council.

The historic building, originally constructed in 1860, was once recognized as one of the most modern schools in the region. It has been renovated to serve as a hub for workshops, exhibitions, concerts, performances, and literary events, aiming to preserve local heritage while providing new social spaces for the community.

During the ceremony, Mayor Dario Friščić highlighted that the project is part of a broader series of developments, noting that completed projects this year have exceeded a value of 2.5 million euros. Other recent improvements include the renovation of the Šudergraba area and the local library, as well as new infrastructure such as parking facilities and a new fire vehicle.
