Poland launches nationwide safety and crisis preparedness training

Poland is implementing a nationwide safety and education initiative through the National Family Training, organized by the Ministry of Interior and Administration's Academy of Population Protection and Civil Defense. The program, which includes over 1,100 educational facilities, aims to prepare citizens, particularly families and students, for crisis situations.

Key components of the training include identifying emergency signals and RCB alerts, locating safe shelters, and developing family emergency plans. In schools, the focus is on safety procedures, recognizing concerning behaviors, and responding to potential threats, including those involving dangerous tools or aggression in digital spaces.

Police officers are participating in the initiative to provide preventive education, teaching the ‘4U’ rule: ‘uważaj, uciekaj, ukryj się, udaremnij atak’ (watch, run, hide, thwart an attack). The training involves collaboration between the police, fire departments, local governments, and various community organizations to strengthen social resilience and ensure effective responses to emergencies.
