Kozani cultural heritage showcased in new folklore publication

A new publication titled ‘Cultural Associations of Kozani – Folklore & Tradition’ was presented at the Folklore Museum of Kozani on October 12, 2026. Published by Parembasi Editions, the book documents the rich cultural and folkloric identity of the Kozani region.

The volume highlights the historical journey and activities of the city’s cultural and ethnotopic associations, as well as the local ‘Fanous’ (lanterns) of Kozani. Through texts and extensive photographic material, the work captures how these organizations preserve local customs, traditions, and memories passed down through generations.

The presentation featured contributions from various local officials and experts, including Dimitra Karagianni, the editor of the volume, who emphasized the necessity of recording these efforts to preserve cultural heritage for future generations. The event was organized in collaboration with the Association of Letters and Arts of Kozani and the Municipality of Kozani.
