Kozani hospitality association submits seven demands to Greek Prime Minister

The Agios Christoforos Coffee Shop Association in Kozani has submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister of Greece requesting support for the local hospitality sector. The association highlights that businesses are currently struggling with rising operating costs, staffing difficulties, and various tax and municipal burdens.

The memorandum outlines seven key demands to alleviate these pressures:

1. A unified and lower VAT rate for hospitality, regardless of whether service is dine-in, take-away, or delivery. 2. The abolition of the 0.5% take-away fee and a review of municipal charges. 3. The introduction of a ‘student seal’ to allow students to work legally with flexible hours. 4. Subsidized job positions for youth, students, and the unemployed. 5. A reduction in employer costs for small businesses. 6. Specific support for Kozani and Western Macedonia regarding energy costs and equipment to assist with the region's economic and energy transition. 7. The establishment of a permanent dialogue between the state, local government, and hospitality professionals.
