Kozani launches 2026 European Wakeboard Championship

An official opening ceremony was held in the central square of Kozani, Greece, marking the start of the 2026 European Wakeboard Championship. More than 130 athletes from 15 countries will compete on Lake Polyfytos from 15 to 18 July.

The event is organized by the Naval Club of Servia in partnership with the Hellenic Waterski Federation, with support from the municipality of Kozani, the Western Macedonia Region and the Greek Tourism Organization. Local officials highlighted that about 200 visitors – athletes, coaches, officials and family members – are expected, providing a boost to hotels, cafés and restaurants. The opening featured a parade of national flags, live music, traditional dances and the presentation of local foods such as kishe, tulumba and sandwiches. The competitions will be streamed live, promoting Kozani as a potential venue for future international sports events.
