Kozani Municipality approves park lighting upgrade

The Kozani Municipal Committee has approved a project to upgrade the lighting in parks, playgrounds, and public green spaces. With a total budget of €297,042, the initiative is moving toward the tendering process.

The project involves replacing outdated lighting fixtures with modern LED technology and installing new poles made of durable materials, such as aluminum, in areas where existing infrastructure is worn or insufficient. The upgrade aims to improve energy efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Mayor Giannis Kokkaliaris stated that the intervention seeks to enhance the urban environment, ensure citizen safety, and support sustainable urban development. The project is part of the Special Program for Just Transition.
