A 16-year-old student from the 1st General Lyceum of Kozani has died after being found unconscious in the school toilets. Emergency responders from EKAB transported the teenager to Mamatsio Hospital, where medical staff attempted resuscitation, but she was pronounced dead.

Education Minister Sofia Zacharaki stated that the student had been under the supervision of a school psychologist and social worker. During the incident, a trained teacher performed CPR and used an automated external defibrillator available at the school. Following the tragedy, the school suspended classes, and the Ministry of Education has deployed psychologists and social workers to provide support to students and staff.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances of the death. While preliminary reports suggest the possibility of suicide, official confirmation is pending. The funeral for the student is scheduled to take place at the Holy Church of Saint George in Kozani.
