Kozloduy police arrest repeat offender using stop-rounds

A 21-year-old repeat offender was apprehended by police in Kozloduy after a pursuit involving the use of stop-rounds. The individual, who has prior convictions for theft, robbery, and drug distribution, had been sought by authorities for approximately six weeks following new alleged crimes.

The incident began after a neighbor reported threats made by the suspect. Upon arrival, police spotted the man attempting to flee. Special units established a perimeter around the area. During the pursuit, the suspect ignored verbal commands and warning shots, eventually jumping a fence. Following a final warning, officers used a stop-round that struck the suspect in the pelvic area.

Medical teams treated the individual for superficial scratches on his left hip. He was subsequently transported to a surgical ward in a Kozloduy hospital under police guard. A search of his person revealed a foil wrap containing cannabis. The Vratsa District Investigation Service has initiated pre-trial proceedings regarding the case.
