KPCC President compares RSS to Taliban and Jaish-e-Mohammed
Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President B. K. Hariprasad has compared the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to international terrorist groups Jaish-e-Mohammed and the Taliban. Hariprasad stated there is “no difference” between the three organizations because none are registered in India.
The comments follow a growing debate regarding the RSS's legal and financial status. Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge has demanded that the RSS clarify under which Indian laws it maintains property, bank accounts, and receives donations.
In response to the scrutiny, BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B. L. Santhosh defended the RSS, arguing that the organization does not require statutory registration. Santhosh noted that the RSS has operated since 1925 based on public trust rather than paperwork.
Additionally, Hariprasad addressed the Vande Mataram controversy, supporting remarks made by Kerala VC Mohanan Kunnummal. He accused the RSS of failing to sing the national anthem or hoist the tricolour flag.
