KPDN finds no fuel contamination in Batu Kawan petrol station

The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) in Penang has found no evidence of water or contamination in the RON95 fuel storage tanks at a petrol station in Batu Kawan. The investigation was launched following social media reports claiming vehicles experienced issues after refueling at the location.

Authorities conducted a comprehensive review of the Automatic Tank Gauge (ATG) records for the previous three days, which showed no indications of water presence. Physical inspections of the pump areas and tank sumps also revealed no water accumulation beyond normal condensation.

Manual testing was performed using the ‘dipping’ method with Water Finding Paste (WFP). The paste, which changes color in the presence of water, showed no reaction during the inspection. Additionally, visual checks of the fuel dispensed from all pump nozzles confirmed the fuel appeared clear and free of visible contaminants.
