KPDN requests fuel subsidies and public aid for Budget 2027
The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has requested that the Ministry of Finance maintain fuel subsidies and various social assistance programs in the upcoming Budget 2027.
Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali emphasized the need to preserve the Subsidized Diesel Control System (SKDS) and cooking oil subsidies to mitigate the impact of rising global fuel prices on the cost of living. He also advocated for the continuation of price standardization programs for Sabah and Sarawak, as well as cash assistance programs such as Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) and Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA).
Issues regarding the cost of living are expected to be discussed in detail during the National Cost of Living Action Council (NACCOL) meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, scheduled for September 29.
