KPK conducts multiple investigations into corruption cases in Indonesia

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is actively pursuing several high-profile corruption investigations across various sectors in Indonesia.

In Central Java, the KPK has summoned four officials from the Audit Board (BPK) regarding alleged corruption involving the inactive Regent of Klaten. This investigation follows a sting operation in October 2026 that implicated several individuals, including the head of the BPK Central Java representative office, in schemes related to audit conditioning and procurement.

In the financial sector, the KPK is questioning former executives of the Indonesia Export Financing Institution (LPEI) concerning credit facility corruption that has allegedly caused state losses exceeding Rp11 trillion. Several suspects have already been identified, including former managing directors and representatives from debtor companies.

Infrastructure projects are also under scrutiny. The KPK is investigating a corruption case involving road construction projects in North Sumatra, with several suspects already detained. Additionally, the commission is examining bribery allegations within the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) under the Ministry of Transportation, specifically concerning railway track construction and maintenance projects in West Java and South Sumatra. This long-running investigation has already resulted in 22 suspects, including a former member of the Indonesian House of Representatives.
